The Sacred Pipe Ceremony
The Sacred Pipe came to the Bear Tribe through Evelyn Eaton. She is a white woman of Micmac and Malisite blood. She lived in Owens Valley in California and began there to study the ways of the sweat lodge, the pipe and other Native ceremonies with Arapaho and Paiute medicine people. Her book 'I send a voice' gives detailed information about her experiences amongst the tribes.
She is one of my teachers in spirit.
The pipe crossed my way the first time in 1999 at a medicine sweat lodge weekend in Germany. John Twobirds a Native from New Mexico was the medicine person to lead the lodge. This lodge was different to the Bear Tribe lodge as it had a pipe round. This was for me a very touching moment, likewise the pipe prayes every morning at dawn with John. The stillness and the sacredness left a deep impression in my soul.
In July 2006 while I was doing my 10 days training program with the Baerenstamm in Germany it was the right time for the pipe to come to me. Since last full moon my pipe has been opened by the chief into a working pipe. Now I am able to offer the pipe ceremony to interessted people.
The pipe ceremony is taking place on the first Wednesday of every month at 19.00 h. If you want to join me please let me know beforehand. You have to be there 30 min before the ceremony starts. That is 18.30. The ceremony will start at 19.00h sharply and can not be joined once it has commenced.
If you feel drawn towards it , please do not hesitate to get in contact. ( See 'home' for contact details)
